Terms and conditions

 

We sincerely hope that you enjoy your stay in our motorhome and have an amazing time. We have gone to great lengths to try to make your trip as enjoyable and as smooth as possible for you to enjoy and this includes ensuring you are fully aware of all the terms & conditions. So if you can just spare a short five minutes to familiarise yourself with these it will definitely help you to ensure your holiday is a 'wheelie great holiday' 

 

**When booking with Motorhomehols.com you are accepting these terms and conditions and this is a legally binding contract between both parties

1. DEFINITION  

 

‘’I’’, ‘’Me’’, ‘’you’’, ‘’yours’’, ‘’yourself’’, ‘’hirer’’ refers to the person or persons who are customers. Customer means the person or persons nominated as the hirer on the contract rental agreement and any person whose credit or debit card, or bank transfer is taken for payment of security deposit. They are ultimately responsible for the hiring of the motorhome and would be responsible for any costs incurred as a result of damage or not following these specific terms and conditions outlined here. "We", "Us", "Ours", "Company", "Motorhomehols.com", refers to the rental company responsible for providing the service of motorhome rental and the vehicle for which this relates.

 

2. PAYMENTS AND DEPOSITS 

 

Following your initial enquiry with Motorhomehols.com and the discussion of which dates you are requesting we will send you a booking form. Upon receiving the booking form you will be requested to make a deposit payment of 40% of the booking total. This deposit needs to be paid by bank transfer, and your booking form will provide the account details for this payment to be made to. Please be aware that regardless of prior discussions with dates etc, the dates you wish to book are not secured until the deposit has been paid and received by Motorhomehols.com

We would strongly recommend that to avoid disappointment you settle the deposit as soon as you receive it as Motorhomehols.com receives many enquiries each and every day. We are unable to hold dates without deposits being received 

 

The remainder of the balance is to be paid no later than 28 days before departure. Failure to pay the remaining balance on time may result in the cancellation of your booking by Motorhomehols.com and the loss of your deposit. We will endeavour to contact you prior to cancelling but we reserve the right, once the payment date has been missed as per these terms & conditions to cancel the booking at our discretion

If you book and the departure date is less than 28 days from the date of booking we will require the full booking amount immediately to secure those dates

Please note this deposit is only to secure the booking itself, and this amount will be deducted from your final balance. There is an additional security deposit outlined below in section 3 (security deposit), which relates to the hire itself

3. SECURITY DEPOSIT

Please note a security deposit usually £500 is required to cover minor damage and penalties. This is a stipulation of our insurers and covers any potential damage excess. This amount can vary dependant on the age of the 'hirer'

 

  • Drivers aged 25-75 - Security deposit £500

  • Drivers aged 23-24 - Security deposit £750

  • Drivers aged 21-22 - Security deposit £1000

  • Drivers aged 76-79 - Security deposit £1000

This amount covers the insurance excess in the event of a qualifying claim. Should there be damage that has been deemed as negligent, the costs associated with this would be billed to you directly, as the insurance does not cover for negligence on the part of the 'hirer'. This is explained in greater detail in section 10 (Insurance) 

Non-qualifying insurance claimable damages or penalty charges (see section 7) will be taken out of the security deposit up to the amount held, and if required due to the costs involved, any further amount will be billed to you. This amount would need to be settled within 7 working days of the hire end date. Any security deposit due back to you will be paid to you within 7 days of the hire end date

We require the security deposit to be paid via cleared funds, ie, bank transfer

In the event of a claim on the insurance regardless of fault, the security deposit would not be refunded until the claim was settled

4. MINOR DAMAGES/REPAIRS/CLEANING/INVENTORY

As explained in section 3 (security deposit), the security deposit will be taken prior to, or upon the collection of the vehicle. This will be taken by bank transfer.

Upon collection and drop off of the motorhome an extensive inspection of the condition of the motorhome inside and outside is carried out by Motorhomehols.com, including an inventory check. Further inspections may be carried out in more detail within 48 hours if required. Any minor repairs or extra cleaning required would then be taken from the security deposit up to the amount required. 

It is the 'hirers' responsibility to ensure the motorhome is returned in the same condition it was collected. Any issues with damage must be notified to us within two hours of the event. 

The Inventory form provided to you must also be completed prior to the returning of the motorhome. Any missing items must be declared as the inventory will also be checked by Motorhomehols.com upon return. Please follow the return checklist (also provided with the hire), and clean the vehicle thoroughly to ensure you would not be liable for any fines or charges upon return.

5. SEVERE DAMAGE

 

If the hirer has caused severe damage to the vehicle by negligence (no other person or vehicle involved) then the full security deposit will be taken and used toward paying for repairs and penalties. If the cost of repairs or penalties exceeds the security deposit, the hirer must pay the remaining balance of the repair costs within 7 days of receiving the invoice from Motorhomehols.com. Severe damage examples would be bumper or damage to wing mirrors, doors, dog chew damage, wrong fuel damage, and fuel added to the water tank. None of these would be covered by the insurance due to driver negligence.

Any damage that deems the motorhome unusable for the next hirer would also result in loss of hire revenue being passed onto you for the entire period that the motorhome is 'off-hire'.

Any severe damage as a result of an accident that may be subject to an insurance claim (regardless of fault) the excess will apply and security deposit held. If the hirer was deemed to not be at fault the security deposit would be refunded but only once the insurance claim has been settled. You will not have any insurance cover if you breach any of the terms of the agreement and would be liable for ALL costs. 

It is imperative that in the event of an accident or serious damage that you contact Motorhomehols.com immediately. Failure to do so could breach these terms & conditions. Please see section 6 (accident)

This vehicle is only suitable for tarmac roads and stone tracks at camping sites. Damage to the vehicle due to traveling off-road, or on very rough trails dislodging pipes, pumps and exhausts will not be covered. 

Overhead damage is not covered so you would be liable for all costs. Examples of this include driving under a low bridge and damaging the roof or roof lights, or satellite aerial of the motorhome.

6. ACCIDENT

 

In the unfortunate event of an accident, you must notify Motorhomehols.com within 2 hours of the event occurring. Crucially you must also adhere to the points below to ensure the insurance is not void making you fully liable for all costs:-

  • Do not make any admission of liability nor give any money to an injured person

  • Obtain the name and address of any other driver and registration for any other vehicles

  • Obtain insurance document details from any other parties and drivers. You must also provide our insurance details

  • Obtain name and addresses of any witnesses

  • Record position in the road of any vehicles

  • Take extensive photos of any damage incurred to any vehicle involved

  • Report incident to the police immediately

  • Complete an accident form immediately which is contained in the motorhome folder and can also be downloaded here

 

Do NOT make ANY admission of liability to any parts, reach any settlement or offer. 

Please note you must do all in your power to progress a claim including attending court if necessary. 

Please note the insurance excess (security deposit) is due by you in the event of an accident whether you are at fault or not. This is due immediately upon the accident occurring. Should the accident be the fault of the hirer, any further costs for the recovery of the vehicle would also be due by you immediately. The hirer will be liable for any costs relating to an accident or severe damage caused by themselves. You would also be charged for the delivery of a replacement vehicle if necessary for future rentals, or loss of rental income that would arise from the motorhome being classed as out of commission due to the accident/severe damage being caused. 

No security deposit or excess fee will be refunded until any qualifying insurance claim has been settled.

7. PENALTIES 

In order to maintain the highest level of service, at Motorhomehols.com discretion you may be subject to the following penalties should there be a breach in the agreed terms & conditions upon returning the vehicle. 

If the vehicle is not returned in the condition the hirer received it a standard charge of £50 will be taken out of your security deposit along with whichever of the following applies: 

  • Refueling (van should be returned full of diesel as it was received) - the actual cost to refill at a local petrol station plus £25 

  • General cleaning (upholstery, toilet, fridge oven, etc) up to £100 depending upon the severity of uncleanliness

  • Full valeting (due to extensive mud, dirt/hairs from dogs on upholstery) £200

  • Toilet not empty or clean £100

  • Water tank and wastewater tank not empty £50

  • Failure to inform us of a dog on the trip £100

  • Toilet overflow £150

  • Parking fine - the cost of the fine plus £25 admin cost

  • Diesel into water tank £500

  • Adding petrol into the diesel tank £500 plus repairs

  • Smoking/vaping fine £100

  • Late return £100 per hour

  • Amendments to booking- £25 each amendment

  • Festivals (Not permitted) £500 

  • Mileage of 1000 miles per week limit exceeded cost is 35p per mile 

  • Damp caused to vehicle or upholstery by failure to close windows or skylight £100 plus cost to repair

  • Any missing items will be charged as per the cost on the inventory form

  • The cost of any damage to the vehicle or interior will be subject to the cost of repair or insurance claim, in which case the full £500 security deposit will be used as the insurance excess. 

  • If any damage is due to neglect, the insurance would not be used and you would be labile for any costs. Initially, they would be taken from the security deposit, but if the cost of repairs exceeded the bill you would need to pay within 7 working days. 

  • Charges would apply if the vehicle was unable to be rented due to accident repairs if this was due to neglect. You would be liable for the daily rental income lost whilst the vehicle is off-road

  • The cost to recover the Vehicle, which has become bogged (this cost will vary depending on the severity and the location of the vehicle)

* If you do not pay all charges when due, you agree to pay a late charge of 1.5% per day on the outstanding balance and any collection costs incurred by Motorhomehols.com, including reasonable legal fees. When the customer comprises of more than one person, each person is liable jointly and severally for all obligations of the customer pursuant to this Agreement.

8. USE OF VEHICLE/YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES  

The best way to view the hire of the motorhome is to treat it as if it were your own. These vehicles are very expensive and we take great care to ensure the motorhome is in excellent condition for each and every hirer. We want you to experience the best the vehicle has to offer. We have made it as easy as possible to follow the guidelines and to avoid issues, such as handy manuals and quick guide flashcards in the motorhome to explain everything, and also explainer videos to help you understand how everything works to avoid potential issues. We strongly encourage you to read all the literature provided and treat the motorhome with TLC, as if it were your own. 

The following are the hirers' responsibility: 

  • Driving the vehicle in a cautious, prudent and normal manner. Take due care and attention whilst hiring the vehicle

  • Take care to avoid any damage to the vehicle, any of its parts or any of the equipment provided with the vehicle

  • Any loss or damage to additional equipment hired at the time of rental, including but not limited to equipment hired at the time of rental. This includes the television and all appliances/extras included.

  • Ensuring you always use the correct fuel.

  • The payment of reasonable costs if we have to pay extra costs upon return of the vehicle to its condition, when the handover inspection was carried out (for example, if extra valeting time or special material or equipment is needed to restore the vehicle to its pre-rental condition) or if the vehicle has been damaged internally or externally whilst in your care. Please refer to the penalties section for more information on this.

  • Ensuring you do not sell, rent or dispose of the vehicle.

  • Ensuring works are carried out on the vehicle without our permission.

  • Ensuring you do not leave the keys in the vehicle at any time whilst vehicle is unattended, and keep keys on your personal self at all times.

  • The hirer must make sure the vehicle is secure and locked at all times. Do not leave the vehicle open whilst vehicle unattended at any time or leave the key in clear sight or in the ignition at any time unless driving. Never leave the vehicle parked or unattended without the supplied steering lock applied, and additional wheel clamp.

  • Ensuring you contact us as soon as possible and within a maximum of 2 hrs of having an accident and/or any fault with the vehicle and follow the ‘In the Event of An Accident’ process THOROUGHLY. 

  • Returning the vehicle to the place we agreed on your departure on time and on the date specified at the end of this agreement with the correct amount of fuel.

  • Ensuring all items (PARTICULARLY THE TELEVISION) are secured before travels, all doors shut and secure, and gas is shut off before travel. We provide handy checklists that illustrate the main things to ensure prior to commencing any drive

You or any other driver must not:

  • Allow the vehicle to be driven by anyone other than the insured driver(s)

  • Use the vehicle for hire or reward.

  • Use the vehicle for any illegal purpose.

  • Use the vehicle in a manner, which could cause damage.

  • Use the vehicle to carry more persons than are permitted by any relevant authority or detailed in this agreement.

  • Use the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

  • Use the vehicle at any festival

  • Use the vehicle in any form of terrorism

  • Use the vehicle or allow it to be used off-road or on roads unsuitable for the vehicle.

  • Carry any hazardous, corrosive or flammable substances on board

  • Use the vehicle for any business purpose

  • Use the vehicle in any type of race

  • Use the vehicle to carry any goods or motorbikes

  • Use the vehicle for any purposes of agriculture

  • Submerge or damage the vehicle in salt water or water of any type.

  • Use the vehicle to partake in any form of crime.

  • Use the vehicle to tow any type of vehicle

  • Carry more persons than have been notified to ourselves 

  • Be in breach of your obligations under this Agreement.

  • Carry any passengers for hire or reward

  • Carry any goods for hire or reward

  • The vehicle will not be used 'Airside' or in close proximity to any aircraft 

  • The vehicle will not be used outside the United Kingdom for business purpose

9. SECURITY EQUIPMENT & TRACKING DEVICES

The motorhome will be provided with a steering wheel lock and a wheel clamp. We ask that you use these every time you leave the vehicle unattended, regardless of how long. They both take seconds to apply and will deter potential thieves securing the motorhome and of course all of your possessions, and prevent interruption to your holiday. Further to this, the vehicle has an alarm and immobiliser which you will need to activate by the key fob. It is the hirers' responsibility to always ensure the alarm is activated and security devices applied. The hirer must always carry the keys on their possession at all times, and never leave them unattended in the motorhome with the doors unlocked.  

Motorhomehols.com has a vehicle tracker fitted in order to fulfill the insurance requirements. This will allow the relevant authorities to trace the whereabouts of the vehicle should the vehicle be stolen. By accepting these terms and conditions you consent to the vehicle tracking device being used for the duration of the hire. 

These vehicles are obviously a target for potential criminals and it is common sense to ensure the vehicle is always kept locked and the keys kept in a safe place. The security of the vehicle is entirely the responsibility of the hirer whilst in the hirer's possession 

10. INSURANCE

The Vehicle is insured for damage to the Vehicle and the property of a third party, but does not include any personal insurance for the customer (including death or bodily injury to the driver) or cover any personal possessions. Motorhomehols.com insurance is arranged with Allianz and a copy is included in the vehicle for you to read through and you can also click here to read and download a copy of the policy and its cover in full.

Only persons named on the Rental Agreement are insured to drive the vehicle. Please note that no insurance cover is offered for overhead damage, any damage deemed as gross negligence, which includes reversing damage, or any internal damages, therefore, the hirer accepts full liability for these which is in addition to the standard vehicle excess should that apply. Windscreens and /or tyre damage is not covered by the standard vehicle insurance and therefore the excess. Please refer to the exclusions as part of this agreement. 

All drivers must be present at the checkout of the Motorhome. No exceptions can be made. Please note you must adhere to all guidelines stated as otherwise your policy will be void and you would be liable to the full balance on the event of any claim. Motorhomehols.com has included a copy of our insurance document in the motorhome, and suggest you read through this to ensure you adhere to all rules to avoid any insurance to be void. 

11. DRIVER REQUIREMENTS

Motorhomehols.com are only able to rent our motorhomes to people aged 21 years to 79 years of age. Please note insurance for over 75’s is not guaranteed and additional information will need to be provided and an extra premium may be imposed.

  • The security deposit also varies depending on the age of the 'hirer' (see security deposit section 3) 

  • You must have a minimum of 2 years driving experience and no more than 6 penalty points on your license (providing they are two minor offenses) 

  • You must have no motoring convictions. 

  • Drivers can have no more than one fault or non-fault claim within the last 5 years 

  • Drivers must be able to demonstrate that they have driven on a regular basis (ie more than 3 times per week) and be comfortable and confident driving a vehicle of this size. This vehicle s under 3.5 tonnes and so is drivable on a standard car license

  • They MUST NOT hold an automatic licence only

Documents required to hire the vehicle: 

  • Copy of the photo card drivers’ licence (Address & ID must be up to date) AND passport

  • Online licence check - https://www.viewdrivingrecord.service.gov.uk/driving-record/licence-number (we will require your national insurance number)

  • Two forms of proof of address (Address must match the drivers' licence)

  • Cleared a traceable security deposit (BACS, Credit/Debit Card, Paypal, etc)

  • Signed rental agreement 

The following documentation is acceptable for proof of address alongside One Utility Bill/Statement dated within 90 days prior to the hire date:

  • Council tax bill/statement

  • TV/internet/landline telephone bill (Including Sky/Virgin/BT etc)

  • Bank or Credit Statement

  • Credit card bill

  • Mortgage statement

Motorhomehols.com also asks for you and ourselves to do a walk around the vehicle at the start and end of each hire, recording any damage to the vehicle. Please also note that you have to hand the keys back to us in person.

You will not have any insurance cover and you will be responsible for the total cost of any damage if you breach any of the terms of this agreement and/or the Terms and Conditions.

Should any driver fail to present correct documentation and identification on collection of the motorhome we will be unable to release the motorhome and no refund will be given. 

 

Please contact us if you hold any non-Uk driving licenses in advance.

Endorsements on licenses - you must declare at the time of booking any endorsements on your license. We can only accept 6 penalty points for speeding only. Any other convictions or more than 6 points will not be accepted. 

 

Insurance claims - you must declare if you have made any vehicle insurance claims in the last 5 years. More than 2 in 5 years means you will not be able to be covered.

You must also declare your occupation at the time of booking as failure to do so may void any insurance, we may not be able to cover the following occupations:

  • Celebrities 

  • Sports personalities 

  • Musicians

  • Entertainers

  • Serving foreign armed services personal/Embassy employees based in the Uk

  • Students 

Drivers are personably responsible for any penalty points, charges or fines imposed within the term of the rental agreement.

Should the driver not disclose that they fulfill one of the above occupations even in a part-time capacity, this will render the agreement as void and the hirer will be fully liable.

Only the person(s) named on insurance must drive or terms will be breached and you will have no insurance. The cost to replace this vehicle is £25,000 so you must make sure you adhere to all terms.

Extra drivers can be added to the policy for a charge of £7 per day. 

12. CANCELLATIONS

 

  • 6 weeks or more before departure/collection date: Full refund 

  • 3-6 weeks before departure/collection date: 25% of hire cost or deposit (whichever is greater)

  • 2-3 weeks before departure/collection date: 50% total hire charge due

  • NO SHOW-2 weeks before departure/collection date: 100% total hire charge due

13. AVAILABILITY 

We do hope that your trip runs smoothly but in the unlikely event that the motorhome was not available due to a previous 'hirer' causing damage that renders the vehicle off the road, or the motorhome being stolen, either a suitable alternative would be found, or your hire would be canceled and refunded in full. These events are beyond our control, however, Motorhomehols.com would do everything in our power to remedy the situation, and you would be notified at the earliest possible opportunity.

Please note in this event, only monies paid for your trip would be covered and refunded along with security deposit paid. No additional compensation or costs would be covered, so we do always recommend any customer to take their own travel insurance to cover you for such unforeseen events.

14. HANDOVER TIMES AND RENTAL PERIODS

 

Vehicles are available for the following rental periods

  • Weekend (3 nights) - Friday 15:30 collection to Monday 10:30 drop off (Not available in high season)

  • Midweek (4 Nights) - Monday 15:30 collection to Friday 10:30 drop off  

  • Full week (7 nights) - Monday 15:30 collection to Monday drop of 10:30

In the event of a bank holiday weekend, there is a 5-night minimum stay requirement. More details regarding pricing and collection/drop off times can be found by clicking here 

15. VEHICLE COLLECTION & RETURN

Collection and drop off times are non-negotiable. Motorhomehols.com have these specific deadlines to allow sufficient time to turn the motorhome around for the next hirer to receive the motorhome in the first-class manner in which you would expect to collect the motorhome for your hire. It is essential that these collection/drop-off times are adhered to.

 

Failure to do so can result in penalties for late drop-off. Please see the (penalties section 7) for more information on the charges for late drop-off. 

 

Upon collection please allow at least one hour for the completion of checks and instructions from our on-site manager. We will carry out a thorough inspection with you and demonstrate the vehicle and how to use the systems. This will be your opportunity to ask any questions.

 

All drivers must be present for the collection of the vehicle. You must bring your full valid driving license for all drivers, and two forms of proof of address. Utility bills or bank statements would suffice. 

We will carry out a full pre-collection inspection, where every system is tested onboard to ensure it is working. You will then be taken on a tour of the motorhome and shown how everything works.

The vehicle must be returned on the agreed date and time. You will not be insured after the time specified, so you must notify us of any late return. If not it may result in prosecution for driving uninsured and invalidate any insurance you had for the vehicle. The vehicle must be returned to us in the same condition you took it, and with a full tank of fuel.  Late return charges are charged at £100 per hour.

Your vehicle will have a handy checklist for returning the vehicle so you can ensure everything is prepared for the returns process to avoid any delays and penalties.

If you wish to look at an alternative or earlier collection time you must contact us. We cannot guarantee anything, and it will depend upon how busy the period is in which you are hiring. However, we always try to do what we can to help customers where possible. If we can be flexible here and there, we will do our best. 

16. MILEAGE LIMIT

You are limited to 1000 miles per 7 days, 715 per 5 days and 540 per 4 days. This is a stipulation of the insurance. Any miles over this amount will be chargeable at 0.35p per mile. 

This forms part of our checklist at the collection and drop-off, where mileage will be noted and checked by both parties.  

17. EUROPEAN AND IRELAND COVER 

 

European travel is possible, however, Motorhomehols.com reserves the right to decline EU rentals at busy times. If you wish to travel outside the UK to Europe or Ireland please contact us and we will advise you accordingly. A supplement will be charged for European travel plus any additional mileage charges may be incurred. Please click here for information on European travel charges

18. ROAD RESTRICTIONS

The vehicle must only be driven on sealed/bitumen roads and you acknowledge that we reserve the right to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions.

19. PARKING FACILITIES

 

We do have a parking place for you to leave your car for the duration of your stay for your convenience, however, this would be left at your risk and Motorhomehols.com does not accept any liability for damage or loss of vehicle, you would do so at your own risk. 

 

We would always advise all valuables are taken out of the vehicle and customer is responsible for locking and securing their own vehicle. 

20. DOGS/PETS

 

Whilst we do accept well behaved small dogs in our motorhome, you must not allow them on ANY of the seats, beds or upholstery. An additional cleaning charge will be imposed if we feel this rule has been breached. This is so we can ensure the utmost standards of cleanliness for each and every hirer. We also cater for non-pet owners and customers who have allergies to pet hair. Therefore it is imperative that each hirer is respectful to the next regarding cleanliness and hygiene. 

 

You must not leave your pet unattended in the vehicle at any time.

 

Traveling with a pet is at your own risk, and we can not be held responsible for any injuries caused to your pet at any time in the motorhome. The dog must be restrained during travel to ensure they are not able to get on any of the seating areas or cause any damage. 

 

An additional deposit of £25 per dog will be taken with a maximum of 2 dogs per hire.

Please refer to the penalties section 7 regarding any fines associated with dogs/pets. 

21. PASSENGERS

Please note all passengers must use seat belt restraints where possible whilst the vehicle is in motion. Any child up to 12 years or 135cm height must be strapped in using the available 3 point seat belts, and additional car seat booster seat requirements as per UK law. It is the driver's responsibility to ensure the seating for all traveling passengers is lawful and adequate. 

22. SMOKING

 

Smoking or vaping is not permitted in our vehicle at ANY time and penalties will be imposed should this rule be ignored. Please refer to the penalities section 7 for further information

23. WIFI AND TV

We have chosen to include FREE use of a TV and UNLIMITED WIFI for up to 10 devices. These items are provided to you as a goodwill gesture in an effort to ensure you have an amazing time. To our knowledge, Motorhomehols.com is the only motorhome hire company that offers FREE UNLIMITED WIFI in our motorhome. Therefore we cannot be held responsible for any issues with poor signals.

As a family, when we have used the motorhome we have always found the signal to be good, however, depending on where you go this will likely differ. 

The WIFI router is in the motorhome and is the best on the market at the time of writing these terms and conditions (2020). Therefore you should enjoy the great advantage of having WIFI even though you are in the middle of nowhere. As a family, we use the WIFI to watch TV streaming such as NETFLIX and Amazon Prime. It usually works extremely well.

Motorhomehols.com cannot be held responsible for a lack of signal or problems with the WIFI or the television. Please note this is a complimentary free service provided and does not form part of your overall bill. If wifi is unavailable there will be no compensation offered. 

The TV also features Freeview (subject to the quality of signal) and a DVD player. There is a HDMI port for Amazon Firesticks or Playstations. You may like to take some DVD’s with you in case of a poor signal. 

24. OUR RESPONSIBILITY 

 

Motorhomehols.com has maintained the vehicle to a high standard to ensure to the best of our ability that the vehicle is roadworthy and suitable for renting at the start of the rental period. We will show you how to use the vehicle, answer any questions you have before you depart and go through the rental agreement with you before you are expected to sign it.

In the event that your vehicle is unavailable for reasons out of our control, such as the vehicle has been involved in an accident prior to your agreed collection time, we will endeavor to provide a replacement vehicle. If a replacement vehicle is unavailable then we will refund all monies including your initial booking fee. We would not be liable for any further costs so we would always recommend you take out your own insurance policy.

25. RAC BREAKDOWN

Please note RAC breakdown cover is included as standard in the UK and Europe. The policy document is included in all the information along with contact numbers in the vehicle handbook. It is a very extensive policy and would cover you in the event of the motorhome breaking down.

Any call-outs due to negligence, eg. flat vehicle battery, wrong or insufficient fuel, diesel in the water tank, keys locked in the motorhome, lost keys, etc will be the responsibility of the hirer. This vehicle is only suitable for tarmac roads and stone tracks at camping sites. Damage to the vehicle due to traveling off-road or on very rough trails dislodging pipes, pumps and exhausts will not be covered. 

Tyres are not included as part of this breakdown cover, a spare tyre is included. Please contact us in the event of any issue relating to the tyres.

26. REVERSING CAMERA/FAILURE OF MOTORHOME SYSTEMS

 

A reversing camera is provided as an aid only and does not guarantee you would be able to reverse safely. It should NOT be purely relied upon to reverse the vehicle, especially into tight areas. The imagery from the camera can show distances deceptively different than they are to within a few feet. We will not be held responsible for any damage to the vehicle if this were not working, or this equipment failed, or that you believed the camera shown there was plenty of room. Any damage to the vehicle is the responsibility of the driver, and cannot be blamed on the equipment which is there purely to aid your driving enjoyment. We suggest one member of your party stands behind the vehicle at all times when reversing, going under a low bridge or moving into any tight space. Take your time to park the vehicle and when departing any location.

 

Should any onboard facility fail whilst away on your trip (not mechanical, for example, the kettle, oven or microwave) we will make every effort to remedy the fault whilst you are away but in some circumstances, this just may not be possible until you return. Motorhomehols.com will not be held responsible or refund any costs incurred as a result of this and are not obliged to replace the vehicle with an alternative. 

27. TITLE TO VEHICLE

 

This vehicle title is held entirely by Andrew Pemberton of motorhomehols.com and you do not have any rights to pledge our credit on the vehicle. You do not have the right to sell, assign, sublet, pledge, mortgage, let or take on personal possession of this vehicle.

28. CAMPING & CARAVANNING CLUB

With your hire, you also get to enjoy the benefits of Motorhomehols.com membership with the camping and caravanning club. Within the motorhome, there is a booklet with hundreds of club sites where you can stay and enjoy discounted rates. 29. TERMINATION OF AGREEMENT/REPOSSESSION OF VEHICLE

 

You acknowledge that Motorhomehols.com reserve the right to cancel your rental at ANY time should:-

 

  • you breach of any of the terms of this agreement

  • you do not provide the correct documentation 

  • you do not pay all related fees due

  • you have obtained the vehicle through fraud or misrepresentation

  • you have provided any incorrect statement, information, or representation

  • the vehicle appears abandoned or has been taken out of the UK without permission

  • the vehicle is not returned on the correct date and time or we believe the vehicle may not be

  • we consider on reasonable grounds that the safety of passengers or the condition of the vehicle is in danger 

You agree that in the event of such termination or repossession, you have no rights to any refund in part of full of rental charges or any security deposit paid. You may also be liable for any further costs that could be incurred as a result of this. 

 

30. INDEMNIFICATION

Hirer agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Motorhomehols.com for any loss, damage, or legal actions against Motorhomehols.com as a result of Hirers' operation or use of the hired vehicle during the term of the rental agreement. This includes any solicitor fees necessarily incurred for these purposes. The hirer will also pay for any parking tickets, moving violations, or other citations received while in possession of the hired vehicle.

31. PROPER LAW

In the event of any dispute over this agreement, this Motorhomehols.com rental agreement will be governed by the law of Great Britain in which this agreement was signed. 

Any lawsuit or arbitration must be brought in the UK. If any portion of this agreement is found to be unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder of the agreement would still have full force and effect.

32. DATA PROTECTION ACT

The information that you have provided to us will be used to fulfill this contract placed with us. We will not pass this information onto any other organisation outside this company other than to our insurer.

33. PRIVACY POLICY

 

During the enquiry and reservation process, we will collect personal information, including but not limited to, your name, e-mail address, postal address and telephone number. This information is necessary for booking and for insurance purposes. We may use this information to notify you of any news you may be interested in regarding Motorhomehols.com. None of your personal information will be passed on to any third party companies (other than the insurance company that we use). Payment details including credit and/or debit card numbers, card expiry date and security code will be processed through a secure system.

 

34. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

The rental agreement constitutes the entire agreement of the parties and there are no other oral undertakings, warranties or agreements between the parties relating to the subject matter of this agreement. With the acceptance of the rental agreement by the hirer, the hirer accepts wholeheartedly the terms & conditions set out by Motorhomehols.com. 

Motorhomehols.com reserves the right to add or amend the vehicle specifications and rental at any time. 

In the event of any unforeseeable events where Motorhomehols.com was unable to honour our arrangement, we would only be liable for any monies paid for the rental. No additional costs or compensation would be liable, so it is extremely important that the hirer ensures they have sufficient travel insurance in place for the rental. 

 

35. A NOTE FROM US

 

Please treat this motorhome as if it were your own. This is is our family motorhome which we adore and have lovingly cared for, and we want you to thoroughly enjoy it. It is a very expensive motorhome and would cost around £25,000 to replace. We are trusting you to treat it with the same care and respect as we do. 

 

We do hope you enjoy yourself. The terms and conditions may seem daunting but are necessary to ensure you have a great time and understand the rules as to not impact your enjoyment or the insurance on the vehicle. They are also there to make sure the next hirer enjoys the vehicle in the same condition as yourself. We do not have a replacement motorhome and often the van will be out immediately after you drop it off so please just bear this in mind. Above all else have a fantastic time. Motorhoming is great family fun and a 'wheelie great holiday'
